S-code Intake

I bought a cast iron intake manifold for the 390 that I am rebuilding. I looked into the aluminum but there would have been some problems with truck pulling this year if I had a aluminum intake instead of cast. (It would have put me in the country modified division and those guy go nuts with their trucks. I still want to drive mine around and have a chance to still win something in a lower class)

The guy I bought it from said it was a S code intake. The casting numbers are C6AE-9425-G There is a big S by the thermostat housing.

What in the heck do I have?

Same kind I have on my 66 t-bird's original 390.

If you want a killer cast iron intake, then find a 428CJ intake. This is the same casting as the medium riser-428PI aluminum one , just cast in iron. It'll blow the doors off an "S" code 390 intake. It's also every bit as good as an Edelbrock Performer RPM.
