Steering Question
1973 F100 MANUAL POWER ASSIST STEERING. I am in the process of the common conversion. I have read and studied the other postings. I am using a 1978 f150 4x4 donor truck. My question is; why can't I just mount the power steering box on my 73 in the same place as on the 78 (next to the track bar bracket). Measure and drill holes in the same place on the frame. I would have to relocate the oil filter 90 deg., and get a teliscoping steering shaft. I would use the 78 steering linkage too. What would I run into? Geometry? This seems alot simpler than the other postings. What am I missing? Thanks Youngblue.
