cam question
I have a crane 343941 currently istalled in my 390..the problem I am having is lifter noise.The springs are set up for a bigger cam 280lb open pressure..It has had crane, and comp cams lifters installed...both look identical and both rattle...the comp's are worse when cold( sounds like a 140,000 mile motor)...
My question is can you run a solid lifter on a hydraulic cam?....crane says no but gives no reasons...will it be extra noisy?...has anyone trid this?...d44hd

Some say yes some say no!! I have been told , that its hard to get a good lifter preload on the 941 without having adjustable rockers? with that said..Some of the guys in here are running the 941 with stock rockers without any problems?
I havent started on my motor as of yet! {money} but the 941 will be my cam of choice! But I am going with adjustable rockers just in case!! Sorry I couldnt help you more!! But 1 of the guru's will be here before long and set you in the right direction! Russ
