I'd go with Fuel Injector as they are more efficient when delivering fuel. Fuel atomization is much better. They don't rely on the vacuum to create the atomization as the fuel injector pressurize the fuel and it is already atomized when it comes out of the fuel injector. Only one component to replace if the fuel injector is not working.

Carbs relies on the piston intake position to create the vacuum it needs to atomize the fuel. If there are leaks in the vacuum then fuel atomization is affected within the venturi in the carb. Too many things that could go wrong with the carb for the fuel delivery.

But if your carb dies you can rebuild it for about $20 or replace it for around $100.

FI is better in all respects except for the whole fix it on the road or limp it home if it breaks aspects.

BUT, if you're building for performance it's alot cheaper and easier to get a carb to perform, but if you have the time and money the FI will outperform a carb.

That's it in a nutshell. Fuel injection can work more efficiently, but carbs are still ok, much more cost effective and tuner friendly.

FI = Most Efficient
Carb=Less Efficient

Both are with exception. FI is efficient, requires far less maintenance than a carb....except... a carb though less efficient can be tuned by adjusting jetting and mixture along with a portable tachometer. Fuel injectors are fixed to perform at a given pressure, too much they fizz, too little they drizzle (if there are such adjectives) anyway, Carb=cheaper to buy, more fiddly to maintain.

Fuel Injection is more efficient but more complex and expensive to fix. Carbuerated vehicles are much easier for the backyard mechanic to troubleshoot. You don't have to worry about all the sensors that can go bad nor do you have to worry about pulling codes.
