250 or 350 ?
I just bought my first Ford truck. . . I will never own any other truck again ! ! Now on to my question, What are the differences between a 250 and a 350? Bigger axles, I know the 350 has rear disc brakes but what else is the difference. I bought a 1996 extended cab 250 with a 460 and 4:10 rear end. It should pull my trailer just fine. It weighs in at 7500 pounds and the old Chevy couldn't do it. Thanks.

Darn, you had to pick the hard one... To the best of my knowledge, the frame between the two are the same. The springs are different, the front axles are different and from what I heard, on certain model years the rear axles could also be different. The F-250's have, depending on 2wd or 4wd, Twin I beam or twin traction beam front suspension. The F-350 has a monobeam front axle. It's a dana 50 on the front for the F-250 4wd vs a dana 60 for the F-350 4wd. The rear axles on both of the trucks are ford/sterling 10.25" but, I've heard some F-250's have semi floating axles while the rest have full floating axles. I think there may also be some other differences between the rear axles but, I'm unsure of what they are.
I don't know exactly what the different weight rating are for the axles and stuff so, maybe someone else could try to list those or correct me if I'm wrong on something.
