I recently did a brake job on my 71' f-250 4x4. It has front and rear drum brakes. I replaced the master cylinder. It has a small and large reservoir. I have since read in this forum that for drum brakes the reservoirs should be the same size. Is this going to be a problem? I also noticed while bleeding the brakes that the small reservoir (closest to the front of the truck) fed the rear brakes is this right or do I have my lines crossed up? The back brakes seem to work fine, the front brakes don't seem to work as well. Thanks, for the help.
the reservoir is ok, it will work
the rear brakes are usually supplied from the rear, thats OK as well.
the only question I have is, are you sure you have the correct master cylinder? You very well may have but I would double check with the parts house to make sure.
It always raises a red flag with me if the new parts are not EXACTLY the same as the old. FSC
