98 explorer engine skipping
I've replaced the plugs and wires (which helps for a while). then the skip comes back (around 1000 miles later). Any ideas or sugestions? Thanks Scott

I've had lower intake leaks that coated the electrode after a few thousand miles and had "cracks" on the insulator just under the boot from old wires where the boot grease has dried out. Have you noticed any small losses of coolant?

Yes, I've had to add coolant several times. And after changeing plugs that seem to be troublesome I've noticed a green deposit on the porcelin. Do you then think its a lower intake gasket? Thanks Scott

For me it comes and goes. I've tightened up the bolts on the intake manifold and that seems to help. I keep a couple of spare plugs in the car with tools to change them. Remember O2 senor with green coating. Waiting for good weather and will probably change the gasket. Mine is on #4 and it usuallty seems to occur at the outside plug locations. Won't really know till I open it up, but that is what I suspect it is.
