1991 f150
I just bought a 1991 f150 xlt lariat with a 302 5 speed manual and dual tanks, and have a few questions.
1) the main seal is leeking and i was wondering if there was any way to stop this short of tearing the engine apart.
2) the 4x4 is acting odd; i have manual hubs and with them locked i went into 4x4 hi but don't think it actually engaged because when i was in wet grass the rear wheels spun but the front did nothing. Then as i backed up onto asphalt and continued to backup the front area of the truck, might have been the axles, started smoking like crazy.
I then tried to shift into 4x4 lo but the lever for the transfer case wouldn't move, even into neutral.
How can i fix this.
3) i saw some other postes about the dual tank problem and wondered how i would know if the recal had been done on my truck or not.
