Connecting rods
I have been seeing a few posts that talk about different types of rods. I see the two types are cast and forged. Which ones are better.....for every day mild tune use? I am running the SCMT in the 60hp mode and am happy right where it is. Which rods do I have....or how can I tell. My shop manual says I have cast iron rods....but how do I know for sure?

All the PSD's produced on or before 10/16/00 have forged rods. Everything after that up to and including the 6.0l PSD's Have powdered metal rods (PMR's)
Your PMR's will not give you any trouble with your current mods. As a general rule the PMR's are considered safe up to about 400 horspower.
