Question intermittent loss of power

Hey I have a question about my 02 7.3. While driving in wet conditions it will lose all power all the way to idle and the foot pedal does nothing and then the check engine light will come on for about 1 or 2 seconds then go out and the power will come back to the engine. I took it to the dealer for service and they replaced the accelerator pedal assembly, I picked it up today and took it to wash it at the car wash and it stalled twice leaving the car wash. Any body have any idea what it might be. When I talked to the service guy before i took it in he thought it might be the cam sensor so I assume they checked that.

As far as I know there is no way to check the CPS. It either works or it doesn't.

CPS

It sounds like it is the CPS to me. Mine would quit and then in just a few seconds fire back up. It left a code for intermittent CPS. If the truck is out of warranty get the part from International it is about half the price. Pretty easy to replace yourself!

Is your truck dieing, or just no throttle response? I think it is all electronic, so i would check the little thing on the throttle body to see if it is opening the unit.

Did you mean the throttle pedal?

NO IT DOESN'T DIE ALL THE WAY, IT GOES TO IDLE, THEN I'LL GET AN ENGINE LIGHT AND THEN THE POWER WILL COME BACK. BUT NONE OF THIS HAPPENS UNLESS IT GETS WET SO IT SOUNDS LIKE ITS SHORTING SOMETHING OUT. iT IS UNDER WARRANTY BUT THE SERVICE PEOPLE HAVE A HARD TIME IF THEY CAN'T JUST READ A CODE OFF IT.
