Unhappy Need Help!!!!!!

Came out from the gym to find a hose hanging from my rear axle. I cant figure out where it goes.
Hopefully someone can help me or guide me to an online diagram.
I will describe this the best I can.
On the drivers side of the rear axle facing the back of the truck is located a brass square next to the differential cover.
From the side of the brass square the rear brake lines go in.
From the top of the brass square a rubber hose comes out. The hose is about 28" long and has a Y connector on the end of it. It also has a clip to hold it to metal about a hlaf of the way down it.
This hose appears to go straight through the brass block and appears to go into the axle.
I cant figure out where the loose end of this hose goes!!!

I am sorry if I did not explain this clearly, but any help would be greatly appreciated. If I bring the truck to the dealer they are onloy going to want me to make an appointment.

Thanks for any help.

Sounds like the vent hose.If so, it should go up to a cross member and clip on or to the frame rail clip onto that.

Correct...

Differential vent hose...

You may even see marks/scratches on the frame rail where it was clipped on.. It clips "DIRECTLY" above the rubber axle bumper on the UPPER most FLAT area of the frame pointing towards the front.. Make sure you tip/point the plastic "V" fitting in the DOWNWARD position so as not to scoop up water...

Okay how about some information on another subject. I just checked the build date for my engine August 08,2003. I sincerly hope that is late enough to have incorporated the new injectors and whatever else the earlier 03's ahd issues with. I'm a little disapointed in myself and the dealer since I had assumed by Feb 2004 all the old 2003 engines would be gone. Can anyoen out there with some knowledge eloborate on this. From what I remeber the 04's have all the 03 imporvements, plus a redisgend turbine mount and some other changes? Am I correct? It is doubtful that I have the latest flashes unless they went and reflashed it while I was working the trade and they were washing it. I would guess that if I have no porblems then I do not want them to flash the computer.

Go see http://www.flatratetech.com/6literpo...04_updates.htm . There are about 30 differences between the 03 engine and 04. This is a good site for techie info.
