Transmission shift lever

Well I'm going to ask a stupid question. When looking at the end of the trans. shifter shaft on A C4 what direction should shaft be rotated to put trans. in park. I don't have shift linkage hooked up to verify.

It should rotate forward and up toward the front of the vehicle. Also you could think of it as clockwise as you're looking at the lever directly from the side.
