Hey can any one give me a clue on pulling codes.
Went to auto zone and had the guy pull codes but I think that he though my check engine light was on. He said that every thing came back ok. Is there another way to pull codes?
no it's no one butg I was just curious. i was having some idel problems change the plugs and wires and I'm reseting the computer as we speak. So I was wondering if I had some sensor problems that would show up on the codes. And yes I do have OBD II
Normally if there are any sensor problems, the CEL will come on and the computer will set the codes. There are some provisions in the OBDII system that will give you "pending codes", which means the computer is showing that something may be going wrong, but hasn't failed yet. See if you can find a code reader that will read pending codes. If you reset the computer by removing the battery terminal, you will lose any pending codes that may be stored.
I've done that and cleaned my MAF. When I changed my spark plugs (motorcraft cooper) I broke a wire. Everywhere I went they have to order the plugs I need. Even Ford, so I went to Advance auto and they had a set of auto lites that I think my be causing the problem. I going to check and see if I can find a set of motor craft wires cheeper the what ford sells them for.
