does anyone know if they have to lift the body for an engine swap? My brother in law tells me they lift the body to pull the engine. To me this sounds pretty rad.
You didn't say what kind of truck you had, but I've
never heard of lifting the body to do an engine
swap. Remove the hood, grill and radiator and you
should be good to go.
Jim.
2000 F-250 XLT SUPERCAB 7.3 PSD 4X4 AUTO, LIGHTED VISOR, ROLL TOP COVER, BLACK AND BEAUTIFUL. I JUST LOVE A FORD TRUCK.
Thanks for the reply Jim. I have a 99 250SD EC 8'bed 5.4,4.10 rear. Its a pretty good combination for what I use it for. I really like the truck line-up from Ford with these Super Dutys but I am having the headgasket replaced on the right bank because it is leaking oil at the back of the engine. I might add that Ford is picking up the expense even though it is past the 36000 mile warranty. I have heard that the modular engines are supposed to be pretty strong but this makes me wonder.
