Yes it is a dana 44 but if you are looking at gears remember it is a reverse rotation

ditto on the 4.56, im personally am going 4.88s with my new D60/sterling combo, but thats becasue im gonna be runnin around 37s and im not impressed with the rigs current gear drive

oh yea and if you got the rig from me it would have a d35 front with a 8.8 from an astro van (due to selling stronger parts for cash!)

He got it from me and its a custom Dynatrac Dana 60 outer, Dana 70 center with chromoly axles. And 5.13 gears. Casing and tubes are pure Unobtanium.

for 36's, I would go with 4.56's minimum.. Infact, with overdrive, I would be temped to get 5.13's..

a friend had F-150, with a 5.0 AOD combo, running 4.56's. with 35's it was just like stock, but less power, overdrive was pretty usless, like stock. With 31's and those gears, it was really nice. Good mileage, held OD everywhere, and was a blast to drive.
