can some body please tell me how i can idenify the front axle in my 92 f150? would it be the dana 44? thanks.Oo.
yes
ttb dana 44, (twin traction beam)
Yes it is a dana 44 but if you are looking at gears remember it is a reverse rotation
read the tag on the axle cause if you bought one from me it would have D60/Sterling and I wouldn't tell you:-X03

If you got it from me it would have a Rockwell in front and half track in the rear and chromoly engine block..

If you got it from me it would have vasilene on it. Is that too far?

rlh, you are welcome to throw some of your cash my way!:-D -jason- |
yes looking for gears you think 4.56 in both axles too steep it is an e40d and i looking to run 35 or 36 inch tires or should i go with 4.11?
what motor are you running?
5.0 litre
i would run the 4:56 i had a 5 f150 with a 351 and the E40D i ran 4:56 with 35's and it was a world of diff.
ditto on the 4.56, im personally am going 4.88s with my new D60/sterling combo, but thats becasue im gonna be runnin around 37s and im not impressed with the rigs current gear drive
oh yea and if you got the rig from me it would have a d35 front with a 8.8 from an astro van (due to selling stronger parts for cash!) |
He got it from me and its a custom Dynatrac Dana 60 outer, Dana 70 center with chromoly axles. And 5.13 gears. Casing and tubes are pure Unobtanium.
for 36's, I would go with 4.56's minimum.. Infact, with overdrive, I would be temped to get 5.13's..
a friend had F-150, with a 5.0 AOD combo, running 4.56's. with 35's it was just like stock, but less power, overdrive was pretty usless, like stock. With 31's and those gears, it was really nice. Good mileage, held OD everywhere, and was a blast to drive. |
