I have the stock 5 speed in my 94 F-150 XLT. Every time I go to shift up or down in the first three gears, I basically have to force it into gear. I just bought the truck and really haven't had a chance to change all my fluids.
Can anyone help me figure out if this is just a fluid problem or something easy to fix, or (I hope not) my synchs are bad inside the tranny?
oh yeah, and what are the specs for the 302? I have the 95 block (truck is a late year 94).
The hp figure depends on the kind of motor, the 5.0 was switched to a roller motor in atleast 95-96. There was a thread trying to determine what year it actually started, but it was inconclusive, sometime in 94 we thought, if not all 94's. It had roller lifters and camshaft.
Sounds like the syncros are gone or the shift forks are damaged.
have any idea what syncros or forks will cost to fix...a new clutch is coming (bigger and better than stock), but I have this feeling that the problem lays in the tranny
