i just dont understand...
so now hes broke. his father died and left him a UNFIRED, IN THE ORIGINAL BOX, W/ 2 FACTORY MAGS. COONAN ARMS .357 SEMI-AUTOMATIC, stainless steel, wood grips, SERIAL # 24.
Coonan Arms is a company from St Paul, MN which is now out of business. the pistol is a 1911 style design. UNFIRED.
his sister also got 2 of these same pistols, serial #s were like # 22+23, or 25+26. yeah. she sold those also for, i think $1,000 each. she happens to have won a national womens pistol shooting competition and travels the country.
anyways this one pistol has been in MY gun safe for almost a year now, cause he didnt trust a guy who lived with him. hes suppose to be coming over later to pic it up, SO HE CAN SELL IT.
i cant believe it. ive been dang near broke ALL winter, with WAY more payments than this guy has, yet i still manage to go out, party on weekends, see movies, and pay my bills. BUT i WILL NOT sell my guns. only one of my guns has the sentimental value that this one has, and its just an old worn out remington 870. its no way a collecter like this gun is.
i should have a stand off and keep the gun. not that im greedy, cause it wasnt mine to begin with, but just to make sure he doesnt sell it and regret it later on down the line. all he'll spend the money on is an expensive bottle of scotch, and if the gun is worth $1,000 dollars or more, he'll probably give it up for like $300.
some people...
if someone can tell me how to post a pic in here i can put a picture of this handgun on here in case anyone wants to know what it looks like

ive gotten use to opening my gun safe everyday.. and there it sits, but now it will be just an empty shelf spot in the safe.
who knows, maybe he'll change his mind. maybe sometime down the line he'll forget he even owns it, and i can keep it the way it deserves to be kept..
EDIT:
by the way... he inhereited this gun when his father, lost a long term battle with- you guessed it... alcoholism. even after having his tounge removed do to some sort of medical problem from drinking, i remember watching him enjoy his wiskey. its pretty sad really, ive known the family my WHOLE life. most of them would give you the shirt off their backs, are law abiding and very nice
If you do, when he comes to get it ask him what he will be asking for it.
Most alcoholics don't realize the value of there stuff & sell it real cheap to give them drinking money for a few days.
