I've noticed custom cabs with white dash ***** and the white steering wheel usually have a black plastic 4 speed shift ****. Did Ford make a white shift **** as well ? anybody have one for sale ? Also why are some Ford rear ends referred to as a 9 inch ?
9" = diameter of the rear end melon bolt pattern (best of my knowledge).
Can't help you on the white shift **** though. Try some of the parts suppliers, etc.
I believe there is a white **** available, in one of my parts books it shows the 58-60 as a white **** part# B8C-7213-A $4.95 and black as 61-66. in another parts book it shaows same part number as a sphere column shifter ****, Sounds weird. mine is black as well
So I guess there is but maybe not...Sorry not much help here
Yes like glackowitz said they were made. You might try just using some of that krylon fusion(for vinyl, plastic, rubber) white paint as the **** itself is identical. -4speed
All 1959 & 1960 shift ***** were white, and for both standard, and custom cabs.
The 4WD shift ***** were white as well.
Many of them must have been replaced over the years with newer black ones with the T-18 shift pattern. They are identical and can be painted like 4-speed said. Krylon appliance epoxy does a good job too.
Most of the white ones I've seen in salvage yards over the years were either badly deteriorated, or developed cracks.
Huh. I was going to say that the white shift ***** I see for sale are usually the column shift *****. I have a '58 4 speed (2 of them actually) and they both have black shift *****. One has a shift pattern on it, and the other doesn't (out of my '58 F350 parts truck).
