Question '99 Explorer Speakers

I'm sloooowly going to replace the stereo in my '99 Explorer Sport. Do the door and rear panels have to come off completely? Will 6X9's fit in the rear? Are the fronts 6.5". I'm likely going to do the speakers first, then work on the radio, (right now it's the AM/FM cassette with a Kenwwod changer). Will I notice a difference initially with just replacing the speakers? And lastly, when I replace the speakers, will the stock radio be powerful enought to drive the them?
ThanX for your patience,
Steve

Check on Crutchfield.com for the correct sizes for your vehicle. It depends on what stereo you started out with on whether or not you'll notice a difference in the speakers. I have the Mach system and I noticed a big difference in the speakers. I replaced my speakers with Infinity Kappa 6x8's (odd size in the '98 Explorer XLT 4-door). You'll definitely see a difference when you get a better stereo. My door panels had to come off completely but that's not too big of a deal. Hope this helps.
