Unoffical Ebay Analysis

OK, here is brain teaser... since no one has done it yet....

Earlier this evening, I did a search on Ebay to see how many diesels are for sale from Ford, Chevy, and Dodge.

I was curious if more 2003 6.0L trucks are for sale due to the "issues" with thses motors and dealers, used car lots and private people trying to unload them???

DIESEL MOTORS ONLY (SUBTRACTED OUT 7.3'S)

Ford 2003 - 34 Trucks for sale (More than double the Dodge)
(Three times more than Chevy)

Dodge 2003 - 15 Trucks for sale

Chevy 2003 - 10 Trucks for sale
__________________________________________________ __

Ford 2004 - 17 Trucks for sale (Three times more than Dodge)
(Four times more than Chevy)

Dodge 2004 - 5 Trucks for sale

Chevy 2004 - 4 Trucks for sale
__________________________________________________ __

Totaly unscientifc, but very surprised to see the high number of 2003's for sale. SOme of the "listings" have very low miles and some even said "Ford Buy-Back Truck"... Gee, if it's a buy back, why would anyone want to buy???

There was a listing for a 2003 Excursion with 30 miles from a used car lot and it states "minor chips in quarter panel"... no warrenty!!! Hey with only 30 miles and no warrenty... what the heck is wrong with it? Why didn't Ford or the selling dealer fix it? Why sell it do a used care lot?

Makes you wonder now doesn't it? In previous posts, some have asked "where do buy-back trucks go?" Well, I think I found out!!!

What do the rest of you have to say???

Ford has over 50% market share in diesels, so it stands to reason there will be more for sale anywhere you look.

If you could get that X for about $17,000 off MSRP. It might be worth the risk. Than if you had to you could still put a new engine
in it without any loss if you had just bought a new one.

Its seems that most of the good stuff on ebay goes for about the same as or not much less and sometimes more, then if you bought it outright from a dealer.

If it flat out said its a factory buy back It needs an engine.

And if ford doesnt stop messing with people over the 6.0 they will not have any market share, every where I go and talk to people they always ask if it is true about all the problems with the 6.0 and I have to tell them keep your 7.3 ,and they respond with that is what everyone says that that I asked

As Ihave stated in previous posts, my truck is running well except for the October flash (mileage decrease) issue.

I feel for all of you that have horrible luck.... I just hope that my truck doesn't depreciate so fast while I am still making payments.

I wish I had leased it so I could walk away from it after 3 or 4 years and the depreciation would have been based off a higher amount before all the troubles.

With so many issues, and more and more people knowing of the 6.0L's problems, resell value will be lower, more 6.0 trucks to buy and choose from means lower resell, and people will shy away from the 2003's and 2004's all together???

Drinking hasn't helped me to get my mind off it all, but this website sure has helped. If any one is traveling through Kansas City (DeSoto, KS) look me up, I'll buy the first 2 rounds!!!

Take care,
