Hello, I'm Jerry, new to the website. I also am new to owning a ford pick'em'up truck. I'm 20, just bought a 1997 Ford F150 XL, 4.2 V6, 5 speed . I am new to having a truck period and i've only had the truck 2 days now and already realize there's SO much more that you can modify on a truck than on a car. My main concern is, wth should i do to fix'er up. Here's what i thought:

The obvious:
It's getting a K&N today. As soon as i get off work. So no need to go there.
RainGaurds/Bugshield.
Windows Tented.
Replacing the bench seat with bucket seats.

The not-so-obvious: (I dont know which way i wanna go with the truck)
I was lookin at pictures of fixed up models like mine and I've came to wanting this stuff:
-Billet Grill
-Step Sides
-Bed Rails
-Bed Cover
-Rhino Liner (later on)
-Sport Mirros
-Sound system (duh)

I was just looking at suggestions of what i should do. It's all stock. I kind of like the idea of repainting it....getting it all one color (make the bumpers the color of the truck, Making it almost "Ford-Lightning-like") I'm not however gonna lower it...so you low-rider guys sorry, i'm not doin it. If i wanted to sit on the ground, i'd have bought a car with the 4700 bux instead.

Just looking for input is all....all comments appreciated

P.S. I seen where the xlt's in some of the pix on this site have the bed's of the truck that have the step right behind the cab....(like on the lightning/newer models) Can i get a new bed for my truck? i would say that seems logical, but i've been wrong. Also any other websites that may tickle my fancy?

 

Hey MR232jgf, if you want to change all that, you forgot to change the engine to a 5.4 Sounds like you have a lot of ideas and a big project. You could do your basics w/ air,exuast,wheel and tires. Good luck I'm sure you can get a lot of input on this site, it's a great site.
