What year truck is it? Some of them have two pumps, one in the tank. Makes it a little more difficult because you need to pull the bed.

You just need a fuel pressure gauge, connect it to the valve on the fuel rail, test it with the key on and with the engine running. What engine do you have, if its a 3.0 is it flex fuel.

If your CEL doesn't come back on, and you are experiencing no other driveability concerns, then I wouldn't replace the pump.

What is 'flex fuel'? Are these the same 3.0L that were in so many Taurus? If they are maintained, how many miles can one expect them to go before a rebuild?
I'm looking at a '94 auto 2wd w/ 167000 miles. It's a very nice truck except for the mileage.
