One day I was driving my B2300 and the oil pressure gauge started going up and down so stoped and killed my truck and when i started it back the oil pressure gauge was low and then came back up to normal but when I got home I checked the oil and there was small pices of metal on the dip stick. Is my engine shot or is it just the oil pump.
I also have anothor problem I put in a K&N air filter and about a week later the check engine light come on. So I took it to Auto Zone and had it checked and it said that the EGR had bad flow then the guy cleared it and then the light came back on about 3 days later.
well, first of all, the oil pressure gauges on these trucks stink. I'd get a real oil pressure gauge and see what is going on. As for the metal on your dipstirck, good luck, hope its not too expensive. Whenever there are shards of metal in your oil its not good for 2 reasons. #1, somthing is getting chewed up inside your engine, and sharding metal all over the place. #2, all that sharded up metal is going to get blown around your engine and
might possibly cause more damage. Not sure what to say about the bad egr flow. Maybe a bad egr valve? i'm not too familiar with that.
