I use 75W-90 gear oil, GL-5 rated. You can use synthetic if you choose.
Don't make the mistake of using 85W-140 in it, especially if you're in a colder climate. I once did, and it would hardly shift on cold mornings. I had to drain it out and replace with the lighter weight oil.
