Hey, just wondering here. I have a 97 JBL style radio/6 disc changer. The lights have gone out on it, and the radio is going bad.
I can't find a decent price on the 97 style, but I have found a lot of the 98's around. I was wondering if they used the same style of connectors? Or if there was a major change in the setup of the pre amp to make this not work.
I'm compleatly at a loss to find any hard facts about this.
Oh, this is a 97 Mountaineer by the way. If that matters.
The one you're getting MUST look EXACTLY the same as the one you're replacing. Ford changed the plugs in '98. You can find a '95-'97 JBL system with changer controls but that's about all the options you have unless if you want to go all out and change the wires and stuff.
