4.9L Performance question
I am wanting to pull the whole smog pump system from my 89'
F-150, 4.9L engine. For one reason there is an exhaust leak right by the manifold where the smog enters the system at. The other is to add a little better performance. I was wondering if anyone has any tips for me or knows of a kit that might be available to remove it. My idea was to pull out the whole system, cuting out the second catalist, splicing in straight exhaust pipe to the mufler, pluging the two vacume lines, pluging the smog ports on the exhaust manifold, pulling out the smog pump and pulley assembly and geting a shorter serpentine belt. I just would like to know if that would work or not or if there is a better way. I would also like to know of any other performance tips that i can consider with my engine on my truck. Thanks!
