can anyone help me with my stalling problem. Occurs randomly.
Its a 1990 F-350 with a 460? (7.0 L) engine. When it happens while driving at speeds, the tach goes to zero for a moment, then the engine fires up again, it happens so quickly you might even say it doesnt stall.
Problem is, when Idling and this happens, it does stall. Just like the key was turned off, and it usually starts right away again, but not always. Sometimes I have to wait a few minutes to start it.
It doesnt have a TFI attatched to the distributor.
Sounds like you may have a wire that is trying to break or is occasionally touching metal (just a possibility) try doing a shake test, with the engine running start grabbing wiring harnesses, and shaking them to see if it stalls when you move one, do this both in the engine compartment, and under the dash, atleast that is where I would start
