Oil Puddle Next To Distributor
I own a 1993 Super Duty with a 460 engine. In front of the distributor shaft and on top of the water pump is a puddle of oil I have to clean up every week. Does anyone have any idea of where this oil originates from? Could it be coming from the distributor shaft?

Your intake gasket is probably leaking.
If you're not mechanically challenged, buy a gasket kit and install it, should only take a Saturday afternoon.

cleaning the area and checking after a few minutes of engine operation to see where the oil is coming from, is probably your best bet. as far as performance, if its an oil leak it won't affect performance any.
