is it worht buying them and adding them to the transmission. I have used them before, but i was told not to do so, because it will expand the O rings in the valve body, I seem to think that the conditioners do work, i have 128,500 on my E4OD, and it acts goofy once in a great while, so any news/replies are appreciated!
Usually conditioners are bandaids. they may work and patch a problem long enough that you can either limp along or sell the vehicle or get a real repair later.
For a tranny in good shape, all you need is what the maker recommends and what the oil companies who spend millions on research tell you will work.
I have heard about seal swelling due to conditioenrs, so that is a possible problem. I don't know from experience since I don't use them.
With 128K miles, you may be getting to the point where a rebuild may make sense. A minor rebuild may save you the cost of a major repair later.
there is a guy located by me who used to be a ford tech, now has his own tranny rebuilding shop. I had talked to him, he does walk ins only, he said he goes through the whole transmission, drills/bores holes in the valve body, makes updates, to make it the last transmission you will need basically. He quoted me $1450.
