I have decided to keep the PSD over the proposed V-10 but I have another concern. Has anyone else had problems with rear springs.
Back in January, I noticed the third leaf on both rear spring packs was broken about three inches in front of the U-bolts. I have since replaced them with F350 rear springs but for the life of me I can’t figure out why the others broke.
While replacing the springs, I realized I was not the first one that has had to replace the springs on my truck, since the top of one U-bolt had some stripped threads and a washer was missing on another U-bolt. Who ever replaced the springs earlier, had to have done it in its infancy, since I bought it barley broken in with only 60,000 miles and 2 years old.
Have any other Super Duty’s had the same problem, or did I just have a bad set of springs?
It Just Happens
Happened To Me 3 Spring On Each Side I Went Ahead Replaced It With Firetruck Thickness Springs And One More Extra Leaf Spring Truck Became So Stiff That I Think I Ll Break My Back Before Those Springs Break Again
Stock Springs Are Nothing Special And From What They Have Told Mee U Can Break From A Nice Hit In The Pothole
I also have a broken spring on the left side. I think it's the same one that broke in yours. When I spoke to the mechanic he said it was a common problem. He said that it you look on the spring somewhere you would see that it is made in Mexico. He said he doesn't think their "quality control" is to good.
