Do your backup lights work? and it will start in park and neutral if the signal return or range sensor circuits are broken, meaning, it WILL partially work.
I'm on my THIRD mlp from AutoZone, after about 10 shifts I lose my backup lights completely, and after about 3 months it will no longer crank unless I slam my shifter into park. Thought it was a freak occurance, but I just blew my backup lights on my third sensor yesterday at around the same time as the other ones blew.. fricken rediculous
Also, make sure signal return and range pins aren't flipped, if you flip them the truck will still start but will throw codes like the ones you're showing.. also, are you sure you're aligning the right items? there are notches you want to align, but the line itself (not the notches) have to be aligned to "neutral". I also found it sets better if you shift to neutral, put the switch on while it is aligned and then bolt it down, if I try to align the neutral line while the switch is in place, it causes problems.
Though, honestly, I think it's more failed switch than range adjustmant. I can adjust mine completely wrong and it wont throw codes like that..
One more thing to keep in mine, they are suppose to be tightened to like 3 ft' pounds(edit:actually, it's 6ft/lbs), that is really, really light. It really is JUST enough that it doesn't rotate when shifting.. if you over tighten, to maybe 10 of 15 ft lbs it will destroy the sensor. I completely destroyed my first AZ replacement that way trying to fix the no-backup lights and no-start conditions.
I will prebaly start with another MLPS. I think this one is underwarrenty still. It starts fine just no reverse lights. The main nut or the 2 others are supposed to be at 6 lbs?
