External Slave: what years?

Does anyone know what years the external slave cylinder setup was used? I'm thinking that they started around '86, but not sure.
Need to know ASAP, so I can get parts, hopefully tomorrow.

Try searching on line at autozone.com and check the year truck and see what they list.

1983 I believe is the first year they were used.

I have an '87 with an external slave, and I think it was probably the last year for it.

I have an early '91 with the external slave, and the guy at the parts store said the late '91 and up has an internal slave.
