What is this engine?

What is this engine? I know it's a FE but which one? I found numbers along the front right side of the block, but they were upside down! The numbers are as follows:

C7AE6015G

DH1814 or OH1814

44

21

DIF

OK FE experts, what is it and what is it worth. It was removed from my parts truck 55 F100. I know it's not original. I believe it was born in 1967, long after my Effie was born. It runs, doesn't smoke, doesn't lack for compression. Depending on what it is, I may rebuild it and put it in my driver Effie, but need to know what it is so I can order a rebuild kit.

Thanks

Bubba

by casting #'s they dont tell you anything, bout the only thing is it was made in 67 and originally in a car, you need to check the stroke, its prolly a 352/360/390

352 stroke is 3.5 bore 4
360 stroke is 3.5 bore 4.05
390 stroke is 3.78 bore 4.05
428 stroke is 3.98 bore 4.13

It looks like a plain vanilla 1967 352. That's the only FE block in my book that has a C7AE number without an A after it.

How much it's worth kind of depends on where you're located. Around here where I am, Iowa, they're dirt cheap, there's zillions of them in the junkyards, if you know which junkyard to go to. Around here, it's probably worth $100. Now if you're located in an area where there aren't many of 'em around, then the block alone might be worth $200.

Dont pitch it, it can be built into a 390 with a simple .050" overbore, a 390 crank, and 390 rods. Even if you dont go .050" over on the bore and leave it at 4", you'll still get 380ci.

your right kurt after i looked at my steve christ book a little closer, the only one i could come up with was a 67 352 with the C7AE casting.

kurts also right about what there worth, and its not to much, specially here in iowa, a few weeks ago i bet i saw 100 or more FE's in trucks get crushed, unless your in the right area, there not worth all that much. good luck

Thanks guys,

It was in a parts truck and I could not identify it. If it was one of the bigger members of the family, I might try to rebuild but I think I'll just pass it along to someone who can use it !

Thanks for the replys

Bubba
