I have a 2003 Extended Cab Ford Ranger 4x4 4.0 Manual 4.10 Rearend. Whenever I make a hard turn to the left or the right it vibrates so bad I have to pull off to the side of the road. It started to do this at about 4,000 miles. Are there any suggestions that ya may have. Thanks.
It feels like it is coming from the steering. I would take it to the Ford place but they are hopeless. I think it may be the steering box or a bent Tie Rod. It does not seem to be coming from the rearend.
Mine was doing that a few weeks ago. Seems to have cleared up on it's own, at least temporarily. I suspected the CV-joints were the culprit. In these trucks, there are no disconnecting hubs in the wheels, so the front CV-joints are under stress and spin all the time. If there is any trouble with them at all, you'll definitely feel it through the steering wheel. Might want to inspect those boots on your CV-joints and make sure they are OK.
I would force Ford to repair it or give you a new truck if your still under warranty. It sounds like it has a serious problem that could cause an accident, bring that up to them.
Thanks for the help, but I still cannot figure out the problem. The Ford Dealership said that they didnt know either. I have about had it with them. It only has 15,000 miles on it and I am the original owner. Who do ya suggest I contact about this.
