'97 Ranger Cd Ready ?
gentleman,it's been a while. Ken howyadoin?got a minor question.if you remember i have a '97 ranger 4x4 xcab 168K.(XLT)my stock radio has cd controls,but no cd changer.where would the cd changer go,where is the lead cable located at?would another changer work with the stock controls?

My CD changer was factory installed and located up against the rear wall of the cab, kinda in the middle. It blocked access to the cargo net. I just ripped it out and put in two 8's. I changed the deck out as well. The cable connector was a factory deal also. It looked like a 7-8 pin? phone line wire. It will be hard to find a compatible changer that will work with your receiver in the aftermarket. Good luck....

they make converters to use aftermarket cd changers with factory decks. i saw one on ebay for $10 that lets you use an alpine changer with the ford deck. i don't know what other types of converters they use. for my jeep, i bought a factory in dash cd/cass on ebay for $95, and am very pleased.
