the first thing I would do is make sure the injectors are functioning. To check this use a mechanics stethiscope and listen for clicking. If you don't have one, put your finger on them and see if you can feel the click.

unplug the injectors one at a time with the engine running. If you unplug one and the engine runs the same, then suspect that injector or something with that cylinder.

Before I replaced the injectors, I would change out the fuel filter. I had a misfire and went through several sets of plugs and wires and some serious stress and cussing until I found this out. Just wasn't letting enough fuel through, and it only hurt one cylinder.

Exclamation How in the world . . .

do you get to those wires and plugs? Every thing seems to be at the back of, under and behind the engine?

the scanner reads that there are two messages, but they both read the same (just bought it, so I may not be reading it right) when I press the down arrow. Actron OBD II cp91135

I am a vertically and girthly challenged kinda guy; I hope that I can get to #2, but should I try and replace them all?

If you go to the 97-03 F150 forum farther up the list, go to the FAQ thread, there is a good write up on changing the plugs.

Thumbs up Thanks LxMan1

LxMan1,
Thank you for the heads up. I guess that I did not search in the right places.
Is there a forum area that discusses OBD Scan Tools?
Thanks,
trav

Exclamation Very Interesting

The filter impacted only one cylinder? That is interesting.
I replaced the filter first thing, and the problem continued. I thought silly me, the filter should have impacted more than one cylinder. Oh well, live and learn. The only problem I had with the filter was getting it out of that big old clamp (well and breaking the sissor type fuel line disconnect tool)
