Hello to everyone, this is my first post but I've been here since I bought my new 2003 SD,SC,SB, 7.3, I must say I've learned alot here, THANKS!!. I'm really happy with my SD, it has 12000 miles now and seems to get stronger all the time, my only gripe is the sluggish steering!!!!!!!!!! Is there any fix for this? today here in MN. I was on some slushy back roads and the thing was almost scary to drive, it darted around like a spooked horse. on the hard top road its ok . any thoughts here? thanks

Sloppy steering
I have a 2000 F350 7.3 PS had the same problem before I could get it to the shop I lost my brakes steering & breake are on the same system. So beware I think you might have the same problem. My truck had 11,000 miles on it when it happen. Good luck

On my 02 F350 7.3 - I could feel my brakes throbbing - almost with a grrrrrr sound. If I accelerated I could change the pitch of the grrrrrr sound. Also I could feel it in the steering column. I found one hose laying ontop of the steering column under the hood, when had been chaffed with a flat spot on the hose. Believe it was running to my brakes or power steering. Any how - turned out the power steering pump was going bad - and also had some air in there - which explains the cavitation I was hearing/feeling - sooooo you could be seeing it too

theres no noise, I said grrrrrr cause it frustrates me. it has been this way since new, I realize coming from a gasser that the diesel is much heavier in the front, but the thing just seems like it will jerk the steering wheel around when in ruts and such.
