does any one with a 04 sd f350 4x4 with a 5.4 have a performance kit like exhaust/ intake and like a hypertech prgrammer installed and if you do how much power did you gain ? worth the cost power and fuel?
I run a KN FIPK, Gibson cat back and a Diablo chip in my 5.4, I'll keep the chip and they can have the other garbage back!
The chip or programmer will do the most for you, as far as firming up shifts and a little hp gain, as far as Im concerned, the KN and the cat back were a waste of $$$$.
With my chip, you have to run higher octane fuel, and with no mileage gains and my heavy foot....well those $60 buck fill ups are starting to hurt.
I have to agree with yeti except for the fact that the gibson sounds awful nice. Couldnt stand constant stock exhaust noise. Could here me from all the way across the cornfield. sounded like big vaccum cleaner. can still here me but sounds much better
I here hypertch has something in the works but not availible for a few months. napa has something called power tablets that go in the gas tank and i have tried them. i put one in for a tankful and felt a little extra power. i gotta head over town tommorrow for feed and im gonna get me the bonus size package. ill let ya know if there is any better gain or if i will just keep the pedal matted
yeti i thought OBD III computers didn't take chips you only could reprogram your computer what is hypertech coming out with if you don't know can any one else tell me? hypertech told me they didn't have any thing out yet for 2004 5.4 . has any one used this programmer in early years in a sd with a 5.4 and if you have how do you like it performance and shift and mpg? also would like to know if i'm looking at the wrong programmer?
Got disconnected. what i was asking does the truck maybe feel like something wrong (fuel problem, engine miss) or are you just looking for power to spare?
