Fuel pump run-on

Help!!!!!
i have a 90 f-150 with dual tanks, the switch works, gas guages work, i was coming home today and when i shut the truck off, my fuel pump kept running, so i switched it to the other tank, why does it keep running?????

check your fuel pump relay (I think it is green, but dont hold me to this) Just unplugging it will stop the pump from running. Plug it back in, check if pump is stopped...if not, rap/tap on relay with soft handle of screwdriver to stop it. If that works, you have a temp. fix till you can pick up a new one....if not, leave it unplugged til you're ready to hit the parts store. GOOD LUCK
