There's another question that involves fitting the driveshaft.
The 4.56 axles are from an '89 f150. It also has a 4 speed tranny. I've got a 5 speed tranny. The thing is would my driveshaft fit, because my buddy is saying that it won't fit because his driveshaft is longer.
Could I use his driveshaft because he also says that the connection at the diff is different. Would his driveshaft connect into my tranny or would there be problems there?
Shortening the driveshaft would work it's just lengethening it would get expensive.
I don't know what it is called but he mentioned to me that my driveshaft and rear end are connected by bolts, and he said his isn't. Does this make a big deal in the end?
Any replies would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
if the axles you are putting in is a dana 44 ttb and a 8.8 then you can use youre fcront driveshaft for sure because for only used one yoke style on the front. on the back though they used both the u bolt style and the flange type but if they are both 8.8s then all you would have to do is switch your yoke with the one on the other axle and use your driveshaft
hey man thanks alot. That makes alot of sense to me now. Thank you. So I can use my driveshaft and yoke, and just swap in the axles? Perfect, but will I see any more possible problems?
