ok so my clutch is on its way out... so i have a choice of putting an 11 inch in and i almost sure theres a 10 in there... my question is can i put the 11 in without changing the flywheel
You should be able to use the 11 inch clutch no problem...
The flywheel should be drilled for the 10 and 11 inch clutches..
On E-Bay there is clutch pressure plate and flywheel combinations going for only $75.00. The guy sells 10 at a time ..
I got one ...ALL Ford parts... Excellent deal in my opinion....
They come with a NEW flywheel, NEW clutch disc, NEW pressure plate, NEW Flywheel bolts and NEW pressure plate bolts!!!!
For $75.00 thats a good deal..
BE SURE TO REPLACE THROWOUT AND PILOT BEARINGS TOO!!!!!!!!!

"""New flywheel & clutch for a 300 Ford inline 6 cylinder. Has an 11" clutch disk, comes with bolts for pressure plate and bolts for flywheel. These are brand new Ford parts they still have part numbers on them. As far as applications these will fit all years. 300 Fords always used the same diameter flywheel with 164 teeth. For the clutches there were two diameters 10" or 11". The larger one is a heavier duty clutch but either will fit inside any bellhousing and use the same spline to fit onto input shaft of transmission. So this could be an upgrade depending on what your truck has now.""""
This auction has ended but he has them on there all the time....
I bought the clutch and flywheel of ebay and it bolted up real good and it works great. Its a good clutch for the price. The only problem is it doesnt come with a throw-out bearing.
Knocturnal, don't be so sure. My 94 was a base model and I assumed it would be a 10", but it was an 11. I wish I wasn't in a hurry to get my clutch changed this week(hopefully tomorrow) or I'd try for that Ebay deal. That's quite a bargain.
Amen to that. I often said that you needed to know what color underwear the guy that assembled your Ford was wearing that day to get the right part. The 81 F100 that my current tranny came from also had an 11". I would have thought that the light duty applications would have had the 10, but apparently the 11 is more common.
