Mis-match ports intake/head
My intake ports reach about 1/4" below the bottom of the intake ports on my heads. I've heard of this being common, but I just want to know how much and what it affects. Also, is there enough meat on the floor of the intake port to grind it down? Thanks

What heads and intake do you have? That isn't really common but it does happen. It is not a good thing. I doubt you can take a 1/4" out of the floor. The thing that really sucks about taking metal out of the floor is that you really don't get anymore flow out of the head but you just increased the port volume and slowed down velocity. You could actually loose power by doing this. Of course this is with an intake that somewhat matches. In your case I would consider a different intake.
