new 2001 SD....!

I'm interested in buying a new 2001 SD250 5.4L auto CC Lariat 4WD in the new jersey or northeast area. Does anyone know a dealer or any place on the internet who would give me the vehicle at about $500 more than the invoice ..? I've read some posts here earlier that this could be possible...any help is greatly appreciated....I just love this truck..!!

Call the fleet sales manager of each dealership, tell him you want to order one, and you know exactly what you want, and you will only pay $500 over invoice. I have done this several times in AZ and CO, but ymmv. (I just ordered my 250 SD CC auto V10 4x4 a few days ago.) They will still make money on the holdback and probably some other incentives. Before you call, check the kelly new truck blue book (online) to price out and see exactly all the options that are available. If you are going to haul or tow anything, you might want to consider the V10. Good luck, and let me know how you made out.

Ford provides its dealers with a 3% holdback;which means that if the dealer sells the vehicle soon after receiving it, the net cost of the vehicle to the dealer is 3% less than the invoice price. Additionally starting on 9/01/00, Ford is offering a dealer incentive of an additional 1.25% for all 2001 vehicles invoiced after 9/01/00. This special dealer incentive is only provided to Ford dealers who have qualified for the Blue Oval certification. Bottom line is that you should be able to buy your new truck below invoice if you order it from a Blue Oval certified dealer.
A good source for information such as the above is www.edmunds.com and then select the rebate icon.
By the way, I am a week away from ordering a 2001 F250 CC LB Lariat with the V10.
Good luck and happy truck shopping...

I looked on Edmonds but could not find the Ford Blue oval dealer 1.25% incentive you spoke of. Could you point me to it? Thanks.

To read the info re: Ford's Blue Oval dealer incentive go to: http://www.edmunds.com/edweb/holdback_list.html and see the 11th paragraph.
I agree that it will difficult to determine which dealers are certified; however, the above article states that Ford expects 70% of their dealers to qualify....and you can be assured that most dealers will try.

Thanks for all the info guys...I just managed to get my loan details right from my bank and looks like I'm going to drive my sd after all. I called up the dealer nearest to my place and he says he has no problems cutting the deal at $500 above total invoice for a f250 Lariat CC SRW with a host of options.
But looking at all the holdback and the incentive that he would be pocketing, I'm not sure the price is good. I think 200 under invoice sounds good....what'd you think..?
...Or am I hoping for too much..?
any info appreciated..and thanks in advance..

It never hurts to ask. The dealer will not sell you the vehcile if they cant afford to.
Basically, a dealership can remain profitable if they sell every vehicle for around 3% over dealer invoice.. (this means they're making around 6% or more on each vehicle). So I consider that a price thats fair to both consumer and seller. Compared to appliances, furniture and other durable goods, thats not alot.
However, as most dealers sell alot of vehicle at very high prices (such as msrp), they can afford to let a few go at some unusually low prices..

WHOA!!! ALL AMERICAN FORD located on river street in Hackensack, NJ. They are 1000% honest and trustworthy! Loads of support. I will go nowhere else! 2 weeks ago I purchased a 2001 F250 SD XL w/XLT decor package and snow plow package 5.4V8 Auto 4X4 4:10 rears for $23,399. The invoice price was $27,000. I then went on Fords website and built my own truck with the exact same specs as the one at the dealer and again the price came up as $27,000. American Ford is Blue Oval Certified. Also as we were doing the paper work I wanted to make sure I wasnt getting involved in anything I didnt want to (i.e. life insurance for the loan) and stuff like that. They patiently explained and re-explained every single solitary line on the contract for me. I walked out of there knowing exactly 100% everything I signed for and all the details of the loan. It was a pleasure.
