Apparently over the weekend a few horses were abandoned over at our county fairgrounds 5 days ago, I happened to be there today. A trailer was abandoned with these horses, just so happened I parked next to that trailer. Some genus notices my truck parked next to the trailer and says that must be the guy who left the horses even though it happened FIVE days ago.
So I come back to my truck to find about 3 people and a cop around my truck. So they start laying into me, are you the owner of this truck, is this your trailer, etc etc. They were ready to haul me of for questioning, when I pointed out some facts: That's a 20ft long gooseneck trailer, and this is a F150 with a toolbox on the side and no place hitch for 5th wheel. And why in the world would you assume that just because I parked next to the trailer that I own it? In which they replied "Oh" and left.
It made the news here (must of been a slow news day), I'm not sure if my truck was still parked next to it when it aired though.
....Just goes to show there is a fine line between "Social Awareness" and "minding your own business".
....For your sake Im glad ya didnt have a fifth wheel hitch.....
that sounds like some fine police work, better hope your truck never gets ripped off, then again if you need a fifth wheel maybe they will return it to you that way.
..................The horses must have been of little Value or stolen or the owner\thief would have never left them there unattended. You should have offered to take them home with you. s.kuteman
