Front end conversion problem

I have a 71 F250 sport custom. I bought the front end of a 74 F250. I got the disc brakes, spindles,I-beams everything. So after cleaning everything up, rebuilt or replaced everything.

I started installing and noticed that the 71 front springs are 16" tall and 5/8 thick steel. The 74 front springs are 18" tall and 3/4 thick steel. The 74 front end is installed on the 71.

So after lifting the truck up with a floor jack under the spindle to connect the shock the spring looked like they where not going to collapse enough to allow the spindles to set properly and will have allot of positive camber.

So can I use the 74 spring and has anyone run into this problem.

positive camber?

positive camber= \ /, you would need shorter springs to cure that.
negative camber=/ \, you would need taller springs to solve that.

Your 71 probably has short spring buckets and the 74 should have tall buckets. So with the short buckets and tall springs that would give you some positive camber. \---/ put the short springs in and you should be all dood. Hope that helps.
