1989 L9000 starters
Question about late '80s Ford L9000. My friend told me that the pushbutton starters have caused serious injuries to lots of people. (by drivers accidently hitting them and having the truck lurch forward) Did Ford change this later on, or are they still using set ups that allow the starter to operate while in gear?

How did these supposable people push the start button and hold the start overide button in while not actually in the truck ? I do not know if they still use the start button set up, I'm guessing they do, Im also guessing even the late 80's had clutch interlocks
