I have a '95 V6 Ford Ranger that has a service engine light that indicates that a Cam shaft senor is bad. Well we went and bought a new senor from Advance Auto. During the process of changing the old senor we found that the magnitic bar in side of the senor had fell off and destroyed the what I think is called the trigger wheel.
My question is what is the Cam shaft senor sitting on and how hard, expensive is it to replace that part? Any info is helpful
I just replaced mine and it is not that hard to do. It takes a special alignment tool, but if you look on some of the other threads, I am sure it would not be difficult to put the new shaft in without the tool. Look on the 3.0 forum for camshaft position sensor. I put some good info about it there.
I will read thru some of this info and see if this is something that I can do myself or take it to a Ford dealer. I can't thank you enough for the info that you have given me!!!!
