7.3L transfer case?

7.3L transfer case?
My transfer case is stuck in low gear. The shifter works fine, it is an internal problem. It goes between 2x low and 4x low, but no high gear. Can I swap this out with any other Ford tranfer case, or am I stuck with one from a diesel? I have a few early 80's half ton parts trucks. Is the bolt pattern the same coming from the 7.3L? I have the three speed C6 trans.

i no the transfer case off my1985 bronco will bolt right up to an e4od 4x4. and i put the e40d transfer case on a 1988 5-speed truck. from what i have seen the borg warners for fords are the same from about 1983 and up to 1997. i think the 1989 and up transfer cases are magnesium which is stronger but thats the only major difference. and some diesel transfers have a pto output plate.
