I was driving around yesterday and all day I would get something as if...this may sound weird, but the diesel part of the engine would quiet down and you would hear just a little turbo and this would only happen just before shifting gears. I would understand this if it happened more often, but this is the first time my truck has acted like that. Why?
It has happened before every once in awhile, but not for a few hours like yesterday. This only happens at about 3/4 thottle, does not do it wide open or driving like a Grandmother on church sunday (As long as she is not late )
If you have a module, I could understand that...
before the tranny fix on the predator, it would SLOWLY shift into gear, especially if I were lettng off the throttle just before it would shift...
The tranny's like... Huh, what do you want to do - accelerate to next gear or stop ?!?!? And it would wait on me to make up my mind
ut since the r33 version - it runs like the prevorbial champ !
If the moderator can't figure it out, I'm worried...
I just got done towing a trailer back home and I had it in Tow/Haul. Every single time before it would shift into second it would delay but I figure that is normal for Tow/Haul Mode.
Next time it shows these symptoms I'll turn it off and restart...maybe it'll change something...or I'll just tell my tech at the first free oil change at my dealership.
Well thank you for the vote of confidence however the beauty of this forum is the number of data points we have driving all around. Some one else could have this problem.
And there is no wast gate. Ive had this happen numerous times, always just before normal operating temps. It doesn't seem to affect anything (no power loss), so I put it in my list of quirks. All my quirks happen (when they do happen) before full operating temps are reached.
Problems
Mortgage, ah, err, car payment way too high.
Quirks
Bell housing stain that is slowly disappearing.
After warm restart; 5 romps when put in gear (yes I counted them, its always 5 and only after the first engagement)
1/2 second defueling right at 1-2 shift point, its only happened 6 times, was told its a tranny protection feature (many vehicles have it), keeps the engine from applying too much torque when neither is at operating temp.
The quirk being described on this thread.
You counted the romps; you are as **** as I am.
Thorough is important…IMO
The “1/2 second de-fueling right at 1-2 shift point, its only happened 6 times, was told its a tranny protection feature (many vehicles have it), keeps the engine from applying too much torque when neither is at operating temp.” is very good stuff to know. Explains a bit…
